One of the best techniques is to teach them good sleep manners. What are sleep manners? Sleep manners are the good habits or plans that one should master to have a comfortable sleep. Practicing the babies to get into these manners would never be an easy task as you think. In fact, raising a newborn is never as easy as eating a piece of cake. However, there are some special points that we should consider when training your baby to these good habits. Let us now get to know these are in order to succeed in this process.

  • Using white noise has become one of the most practiced trends in recent centuries. It helps babies to have a relaxing sleep.
  • The babies should be given the chance to understand the difference between day and night. As they are new to everything, they might find it difficult to choose between the natural phenomena of a day. Hence, they must be assisted to understand the difference between them.
  • Sometimes as a parent, you might have forced them to sleep and you always have tried to stimulate them. You must keep in mind that over stimulating a child to sleep can cause numerous other health issues. The babies should be calm and peaceful when trying to put him to sleep.
  • Wake up your newborn if he is sleeping for nearly 3 hours and feed them properly.

A newborn has different needs and requirements. One of the most prominent needs is warmth. Therefore, you should not forget to swaddle him enough to provide him ample amount of warmth and tenderness and will help him sleep well.

Using a pacifier and receiving the help of it to make him sleep well.

Some parents utilize a swing since their birth with the aim of providing their newborns a better sleep. But as a Sleep Training Consultant, I recommend and thoroughly advise you to use a swing when the newborn reach the age of 3- 4 months because if not it can result in several issues.

Avoid feeding them to sleep – this is quite extra special because feeding or forcing the newborns to sleep is in vain because it corrupts the whole sleep training process. I realize it is embarrassing when the baby is not falling asleep by their own because it messes up all your household chores of the day. But try to avoid completely feeding them to sleep because it can harm the complete sleeping process.
